De forme octogonale, orné au centre des armes de la Famille Udemans de Zeeland rehaussées d'une couronne, entourées de petits bouquets, le marli agrémenté d'une guirlande de fleurs alternant avec de petits médaillons stylisés

Lot Essay

According to Dr Jochem Kroes, Chinese Armorial Porcelain for the Dutch Market, Waanders Publishers, Zwolle, The Netherlands, 2007, pp. 383-4, these arms are of the Udemans family of Zeeland. The service dates to 1770-80 and was ordered by Willem Udemans Jr.(1750-96), who had a long VOC career, lastly as a captain in the 1770s and 80s.
