Représenté assis en vajrasana sur une base lotiforme fondue séparément, les mains en dharmacakramudra, tenant à l'origine les tiges des lotus dont une partie subsiste le long des bras, l'une supportant le kamandalu, vêtu d'un dhoti aux galons incisés de motifs floraux, une écharpe tombant de ses épaules, paré de bijoux partiellement incrustés de turquoises, le visage serein, les yeux mi-clos, les lèvres légèrement souriantes et rehaussées de polychromie rouge, le front portant l'urna et ceint d'une couronne réalisée séparément, les cheveux coiffés en un haut chignon surmonté d'un stupa, traces de dorure à froid, re-scellé

Maitreya Buddha governs two perfected worlds: Tushita Heaven, which he currently inhabits and Ketumati, an ideal realm conductive to the pursuit of enlightenment where he will serve as a teaching Buddha
The present figure is depicted in dharmacakramudra. Dharma chakra in Sanskrit means the "Wheel of Dharma". This mudra symbolizes one of the most important moments in the life of Buddha, the occasion when he preached to his companions in the first sermon after his Enlightenment in the Deer Park in Sarnath. In thus denotes the setting into motion of the Wheel of teaching Buddhist teachers such as monks and arhats.
