The three main images set in a landscape with two trees, one bearing the Exaltation of the Cross, the other with the Mother of God, Christ and St. Nicholas, below in the centre the Nativity; saints John the Baptist and Agrippina flanking the scene, painted primarily in complimentary red and green with gilt striations on the garments, the oklad chased with the naturalistic setting, the border of elaborate scrolling design, applied with pierced, silver-gilt haloes
