Lot Essay

The composition of the scene is well executed utilising the rocks to seamlessly render a continuous landscape. It is interesting to note the depth of details displayed on the surface. The composition of the scene is well executed using the rocks to seamlessly render a continuous landscape. The carver has made use of a remarkable array of varying depths to depict the scene and achieve a sense of three-dimensionality. This is particularly noticeable in the areas of the rockwork where the carver is able to distinguish those from the near and far distance.
