ATTRIBUTED TO THE ETHIOP PAINTER, CIRCA 460 B.C.
The obverse with a departure scene, a youthful warrior standing on the right with his body frontal, wearing a belted chiton, a chlamys draped over his right arm and left shoulder, a large shield over his left shoulder, a spear in his right hand, a fillet in his hair, his head in profile to the left facing the older bearded man to the left, leaning forward on his staff, clad in a himation, his right hand holding his right shoulder, an inscription in added red in between reading: [ ]KONI; the reverse with a standing bearded man, his himation draped over his left shoulder, his left arm raised, leaning on his staff; bands of stopt meander below the scenes
