The flat oval stone engraved with an eagle in profile to the right, its head turned back, standing upon a snake coiled around a tree; mounted as a ring in a modern gold setting

Ringstone acquired by the current owner in the 1970s.

Lot Essay

The setting was made by the jeweler Helen Woodhull and is dated on the interior of the hoop, "1981," and is numbered, "302."
