Debuted in 1999, the DATOGRAPH is the world's first wrist chronograph based on the classic column-wheel principle with flyback, precisely jumping minute counter and patented outsize date. It stops events as long as 30 minutes with an accuracy of one-fifth of a second. The precisely jumping minute counter allows easy reading of the stopped time. The flyback mechanism allows the chronograph to be instantaneously reset to zero during an ongoing measurement by simply pressing the chronograph push-piece in the case at 4 o'clock. As soon as the push-piece is released, a new timing cycle begins, eliminating the need to stop a measurement and reset the stop hand before starting a new counting.

The model is available in platinum and pink gold (see lot 3384), worn on a crocodile strap or precious-metal bracelet.
