This intimate subject, from the series of works entitled 'Femme à la coiffeuse', 'Femme au miroir' or 'Femme à la toilette', was one much explored by the artist throughout his career. Gall himself would often buy clothing and textiles for his wife and two girls to pose in, developing ever further the many facets of the subject.
