The case on scrolling foliate feet, flower-spray pilasters headed by female masks to the angles, pierced brass sound-frets to the sides, the domed hood with four pineapple finials and a carrying handle, the glazed door enclosing the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with roman chapters and arabic numerals, the matted centre with silvered plaque signed James Taylor London, date aperture, pierced blued hands and subsidiary alarm ring, pierced brass spandrels, moonphase in the arch, the twin barrel movement striking two bells, the backplate and security brackets engraved with a crown and three feathers surrounded by foliage and swags, pendulum holdfast
