Lot Essay

Alessandria was born in Turin, exhibited in Milan in 1821 and worked in Lucerne from 1847. His works are extremely rare.
It has been suggested from the inscription that the miniature was executed in San Felice del Benaco, a small town on the coast of Lake Garda, or alternatively in Torri del Benaco in the Province of Verona.
