Mary Dudding, née Nelson, and her husband resided at Great Limber, Lincolnshire. They had two sons, Horatio and Edward. Horatio (d. 1895) lent the miniatures depicting himself, his brother, mother and aunt to the Portrait Miniatures exhibition in 1865 (nos. 2535, 2536, 2538 and 2539). Whilst the miniature of the aunt seems to be untraced, those of the two young boys were sold Sotheby's, London, 19 December 1977, lots 15 and 16.
