Today the company is run by Stefano Cinelli Colombini who combines traditional principles with modern technology. The estate is famous for producing one of Italy's greatest wines, Brunello di Montalcino from their 86 hectares of vineyards. Robert Parker wrote in the Wine Advocate in April 1995 that "Barbi fashioned some marvelous Brunellos throughout the sixties and early seventies", and Christie's are delighted to be able to offer many of these outstanding vintages in this sale.
