The present lot is based on an engraving by Johannes Visscher (Hollstein, Vol.XLI, p.67, N^o96) after a drawing by Nicolaes Pietersz. Berchem, signed and dated C. Berghem f.1654, in the British Museum, London. The present lot differs in several details from the engraving, such as the omission of the dog in the centre and the sheep in the background.
