A PERSIAN EMBOSSED 'DEVIL MASK' PARADE KULAH-KHUD

With broad domed skull embossed with a devil's mask, the greater surface decorated with a segmented arrangement of petal-like cartouches radiating from the top and filled with scrolling patterns of flowers chiselled in low relief, the base encircled by a band of cartouches filled with pious invocations also in low relief, fitted with a pair of decorated horns, nasal, plume-holders, and central spike, the border panels and details all drawn in gold koftgari, and fitted with camail of iron and brass butted rings (minor losses)
