A FINE GAUNTLET OF BLUED STEEL, FOR THE RIGHT HAND
EARLY 17TH CENTURY
With pointed tubular cuff with turned cabled edges, the outer plate embossed for the ulna and rough from the hammer, fitted with metacarpus of five lames, embossed cabled knuckle-plate, hinged thumb-plate (the forward articulations missing), retaining all of the original finger lames (one finger detached), the outer cuff blued, the remaining surfaces with early gold funerary paint over blue, and retaining the original kid leather lining (torn)
