Lot Essay

This elegant table with high quality ormolu mounts is typical of Viennese Neo-classicism. The lack of drawers to the frieze and the unusual lozenge shaped panel inset to the top point to the possibility of this having been a mechanical table with rising panel to the centre enclosing a set of drawers.
