Small 4° (197 x 141mm). Title printed in red and black, hand-coloured frontispiece and 11 plates SIGNED BY GILBERT JAMES. Mid 20th-century red morocco gilt by Bayntun (Riviere), covers with gilt fillet border, front cover with a central gilt-stamped chalice surrounded by a snake stamped in outline and coloured green, purple and tan by hand, cornerpieces of vine designs stamped in outline and coloured in green, brown and purple by hand, central grape cluster stamped in outline and coloured green, brown and purple by hand on lower cover, spine divided into 6 compartments by raised bands, lettered in gilt in 2, the others decorated with a vine design composed of a central stalk surrounded by grape clusters and vine leaves stamped in outline and coloured in green, brown and purple by hand, gilt turn-ins, yellow watered silk pastedowns and endpapers, gilt edges.
