With domed pierced hinged cover
12½ in. (32 cm.) high
Together with a miniature tin and horn lantern, circa 1800 - 5 in. (12.5 cm.) high, and a pierced tinware lantern with original chain link suspension, early 19th Century (3)

Lot Essay

The pierced tin lantern in the American Colonial style but also made in England and Europe is similar to one illustrated by Herbert, Peter and Nancy Schiffer, Antique Iron, Schiffer Publishing Pennsylvania 1979, page 276.
