Maker to the Royal Navy No.3499, Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds dial (at XII), up-and-down dial (at VI), blued-steel hands, Earnshaw escapement, cut bi-metallic balance with cylindrical heat compensation weights, blued-steel helical balance spring, dovetail spring detent with jewelled locking stone to side of banking block, brass bowl and gimbal in plain three-tier mahogany box with glazed top (lid replaced) and bone ivory plaque to front inscribed BARRAUD 3499 and external brass drop carrying handles
