a 19th century American framing model of a merchant brig
built in mahogany in plank on frame construction, the stem running down and scarfed to the keel which runs aft to the rudder post, the double frames for the hull with the planking left off to the waist to show the hull and interior construction. The planking from the waist to the cap rail, gives form to the hull, and shows her lines. The deck is framed with the primary deck structures, hatches, mast steps, gunwale board and other details, with a carved stem and tiller. displayed on a simple mahogany stand.
