L'une représentant le festin d'Isaac et d'Abimilech portant en haut l'inscription '.GENESE.XXVI' en lettres dorées et le monogramme '.S.C.'; l'autre représentant Jacob à un puits avec Rachel, portant en haut l'inscription en lettres dorées, le long du bord supérieur, '.GENESE.XXIX' et le monogramme '.S.C.'; chaque scéne encadrée par une frise de rinceaux; le marli alterré d'animaux fantastiques, de masques et d'urnes; le revers décoré de quatre figures de grotesques encadrées par un motif d'entrelacs géométriques, de masques de femmes et de vases fleuris, le marli orné de feuillages dorés stylisés; très légèree usure à la dorure

A PAIR OF CIRCULAR PARCEL-GILT POLYCHROME ENAMEL DISHES DEPICTING SCENES FROM GENESIS

One depicting the feast of Isaac and Abimilech, inscribed in gilt lettering along the upper edge '.GENESE.XXVI' and monogrammed '.S.C.'; the other with a scene of Jacob at the well with Rachel tending her sheep in the background, inscribed in gilt lettering along the upper edge '.GENESE.XXIX' and monogrammed '.S.C.'; each scene with an outer border decorated with fantastical beasts alternating with masks and urns; the reverse with four grotesque herms figures contained within geometric strap-work, females masks and vases with flowers and an outer border of stylized gilt foliage; very minor wear to gilding.
