Lot Essay
The Gelria, which was built in Glasgow in 1913, was owned by the N.V. Koninklijke Hollandsche Loyd. In the 1920's she counted Batavia and Buenos Aires amongst her frequent destinations and from 1925 she was also used for tourist holidays to Norway and Iceland. In 1935 the Gelria was sold to the Italian gouvernment.
