The coins depicted are Swedish dalers of the 1715-1719 period, issued during the Nordic War in an emergency copper minting. See The Connoisseur, October 1999, Numismatic Sources of Chinese Export Porcelain Decoration by S.S. Mottahedeh. Other coin bowls have been in the collection of Dr. Anton C.R.
