Lot Essay

R. Krahl and J. Ayers illustrate a very similar covered jar in Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, Istanbul, vol. III, London, 1986, p. 1001, no. 2126. Another single was sold Sotheby's, New York, 21-22 September 2005, lot 88, and a pair was sold Christie's, New York, 23 January 2008, lot 9.
