The service in the Japanese taste, comprising: a teapot, coffee pot, cream jug, covered sugar bowl and waste bowl; each squat circular, on circular foot, applied with bamboo and prunus blossom, song birds and geometric designs, the covers with bud finials, the waste bowl and cream jug with gilt interiors, the coffee and teapot handles with ivory insulators, each marked under base, also marked 2466, the waste bowl also marked 2344; together with a silver and mixed metal tea kettle-on-stand, mark of Whiting Mfg. Co., circa 1880 with conforming decoration and applied with copper bamboo and fish, the overhead handle with ivory insulators, marked under base of kettle, the stand apparently unmarked
