MID-19TH CENTURY, IN THE LOUIS XV STYLE
The shaped rectangular crossbanded top inset with a gilt-tooled brown leather-lined writing-surface with cabochon clasps to the angles, above a shaped frieze fitted with three mahogany-lined drawers to the front, three simulated drawers to the reverse, the shaped sides centred by Bacchic masks, on foliate-headed cabriole legs terminating in foliate sabots, with remains of a paper label inscribed 'Louis XV writing table Belonging to M. Therese Farquhar formally the property of Sir T.V. Lister Left to E.(?)Farquhar', with a further blue-bordered paper label inscribed 'Mrs. E. Farquhar'
