EARLY 18TH CENTURY AND LATER
Cross and featherbanded overall, the serpentine cavetto-moulded cornice surmounted by three urn-shaped finials and centred by a later inlaid star, above a pair of arched doors with bevelled mirror plates, enclosing an interior with pigeon-holes and folio divisions centred by a pair of doors enclosing a shelf, above a row of three drawers and a pair of candle-slides, the base section with a fall-front enclosing a green baize writing-surface and a fitted interior with pigeon-holes and drawers flanking two fluted ormolu-mounted pilasters enclosing secret compartments and a mirrored door enclosing two drawers and two pigeon- holes, the lower section with five short and two long drawers, on shaped bracket feet, the reverse inscribed twice in white chalk 'LOT 75', the handles replaced, restorations and replacements to banding including later featherbanding in the upper section, interior to upper section later fitted, later feet
