Lot Essay

The king holds an orb in his right hand and may have held a scepter in his left. He wears a brocaded tunic and a mantle with a wide collar. This markedly contemporary outfit makes it unlikely that the figure is God the Father, as has been suggested. More likely it is a saintly king.
