The Episcopal arms are those of the Rt. Revd. Dr. John Jackson, FRS on his appointment as Bishop of Lincoln in 1853, but translated to London in 1869 where he remained bishop until his death in 1885. He was headmaster of Islington Proprietary School in 1836 and Vicar of St. James's Piccadilly 1846-53. (2)
