AN ANGLO-INDIAN CARVED AND TURNED IVORY CHESS SET
VIZIGAPATAM, MID-19TH CENTURY
One side stained black, the other natural, the kings and queens with pierced crowns, the rooks turrets
The king -- 4½ in. (11.4 cm.) high; the pawn -- 2 in. (5 cm.) high
Together with a Vizigapatam ivory and horn veneered sandalwood folding chess board, mid-19th century, with engraved borders -- 17 1/8 in. (43.5 cm.) wide (2)
