Lot Essay

A table of the same type and with virtually matching decoration is illustrated in the catalogue of the Delhi Exhibition of 1902-3 and thought to have been from the Mysore workshop of Yusuf Ali.
Another, bequeathed to the V & A, acquired by George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston when Viceroy of India (V & A: IM 233-1927), Amin Jaffer Furniture From British India and Ceylon, London, 2001, cat. no. 26, pp.164-165.
