The Holy Family with Saint Elisabeth and Saint John

The original, oil on canvas, 98 x 118 cm, is in the Wallraf-Richartz Museum, Cologne since 1862, when it was acquired at the Johann Peter Weijer Sale, Cologne, 25 August 1862, lot 368, with ill. However since then the authenticity of the picture has generally been doubted. It is now believed it is executed by the workshop based on a compostion by Rubens. (H.Vey, A.
