Boors playing backgammon in a tavern interior

The original was in the Königliche Galerie, Berlin (catalogue 1931, n^o856). It was destroyed in 1945. A photograph is recorded in the RKD, The Hague. Three other copies are listed in the RKD: one on canvas, 49 x 72 cm, Sale Kodella Luzern 29 August 1934; one on canvas, 46 x 66 cm, in the Dayton Art Institute, Dayton (Ohio); and another on canvas, 50 x 67 cm, Sale Froitzheim, Aix-la-Chapelle, 14 March 1910, lot 10.
