The original, 454 x 874 cm, is in the collection of the Palace of Versailles. The Supper in the House of Simon was painted for the refectory of the Jesuit convent of Venice, from where it was removed in 1664 when the Venetian Republic offered the painting as a diplomatic gift to King Louis XIV.
