Everyone his Fancy: a bearded man watching children eating an egg and a pancake in an interior

The original, signed, executed circa 1670-1675, 42.5 x 31.5 cm, is inscribed Everyone his fancy; it has been in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam since 1809 (T.Beherman, Godfried Schalcken, 1988, p.261, n^o167, with ill.) and forms a pendant to Differing Tastes, also in the Rijksmuseum since 1809.
