A PAIR OF CHINESE-EXPORT BLACK AND GILT LACQUER SMALL CABINETS-ON-STAND
FIRST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Each decorated overall with birds amid foliage, with a pair of panelled doors enclosing four short and three long graduated drawers surrounding a central door enclosing a red lacquer interior, the sides with brass carrying-handles, with Chinese characters marking the backs of the drawers and the carcase behind the top left short interior drawer, the stand decorated conformingly with square tapering legs and paw feet, decorated to the reverse
Each cabinet: 24¼ in. (61.5 cm.) high; 20 in. (51 cm.) wide; 11 in. (28 cm.) deep
Each stand: 27¾ in. (70.5 cm.) high; 23½ in. (60 cm.) wide; 14½ in. (37 cm.) deep (2)
