TWO EARLY JADE PENDANTS
LATE SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 12TH-10TH CENTURY BC
Comprising a mottled pale greenish-grey curved fish carved from a section of a collared disc, the thin flat body carved on both sides with a circular eye and bifurcated tail, with striated markings on the dorsal and pectoral fins that project laterally from the bottom edge, the mouth pierced with conical hole; and a pale greyish-white jade cicada with large rounded eyes and bifurcated tail, the small pointed mouth pierced with a tiny hole
