FOUR WHITE JADE PENDANTS
19TH CENTURY
Each carved from stone of even white tone, one of octagonal shape incised on one side with a shou medallion encircled by the Eight Trigrams, the reverse with a shou medallion encirled by the twelve cyclical year names inscribed in clerical script, the edges carved in openwork with two bats with outstretched wings; one a circular pendant formed by nine conjoined coins; one an archaistic blade-shaped pendant carved at the top with a taotie mask and along the edge of one side with a chilong with scrolling body; the fourth carved with a chime suspending a pair of fish
Circular pendants, 2 3/8 and 2.3 in. (5.9 and 5.5 cm.) diam.; vertical pendants, 3 3/16 and 2 1/16 in. (8 and 5.2 cm.) long (4)
