A LARGE BRONZE TRIPOD RITUAL FOOD VESSEL, DING
LATE WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 8TH CENTURY BC
The hemispherical body raised on four tall cabriole legs and cast on the upper body with a band of detached scales between bow-string borders and above a pronounced ridge, with a pair of bail handles rising from the inward-canted rim, one side of the interior later carved with a lengthy inscription, with dark grey patina and mottled green encrustation
