THREE ALTERED JADE GE
SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200-1000 BC
One a pendant, the blade with median ridge and beveled edges that continue to where the blade curves and tapers to the sharp tip, the narrower tang with a small biconical hole and the edge of the butt carved with three pairs of double notches, of mottled dark buff color; the other two also with median ridge and beveled edges continuing to where the blade tapers to the point, each with narrower tang and drilled with a conical hole, one of olive-buff color with cinnabar on one side, the other of mottled ivory color with traces of cinnabar
3½, 5¼ and 6 7/8 in. (8.9, 13.3 and 17.5 cm.) long (3)
