THREE SMALL JADE ANIMAL PENDANTS
LATE SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200-1100 BC
Including a thick altered grey-green jade figure of a reclining bottle horn dragon of irregular outline, the body with one bent leg tapering from the large head to the pierced, coiled tip of the tail, with a bullnose perforation through the mouth, the underside flat; an opaque grey-green jade figure of a reclining buffalo, the features of the head and body simply delineated and the underside flat, with bullnose perforation through the mouth; and a thin plaque cut out and carved on both sides as a crouching bottle horn dragon with large head, the thickness of the plaque tapering towards the lower edge, with conical holes in the mouth and coiled tail, the grey-green stone almost completely opaque and of buff color, with traces of cinnabar
