TWO RARE SMALL JADE ORNAMENTS
EASTERN ZHOU/EARLY WESTERN HAN DYNASTY, 7TH-2ND CENTURY BC
One an opaque altered jade tapering rectangular bead carved on each facet with double-line interlocking scrolls, drilled from each end; the other a partially altered white jade, faceted, hollowed fitting, of tapering, shaped outline, two sides finely carved with a taotie mask below a field of small interlocked scrolls, the two narrower sides of conforming outline, the flat top with a hole fitted with an angular loop, the stone polished to a high gloss
