Deeply carved with Siddhartha and Queen Maya riding in a cart decorated with a floral motif and pulled by two rams

Lot Essay
The man holding the reins may be Siddhartha's father, King Suddhodana. For a closely related example, see H. Ingholt, Gandharan Art in Pakistan, 1957, p. 53 and fig. 17.
