A Gilt Bronze Figure of Shadakshari Avalokiteshvara
Tibet, 15th/16th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base, the primary hands folded in anjali mudra in front of the chest and the secondary hands holding a beaded mala and lotus, clad in a diaphanous dhoti and adorned with jewelry and a tiara inlaid with hardstones, the hair piled into a high chignon surmounted by the head of Amitabha, the base sealed and incised with a double-vajra
