Tasting Note: A wine of quality and stature. Well over a dozen notes, consistently good over nine years. An uncomposingly fine but slow to evolve Pauillac. One of my top marks at a major tasting of '96s in 2000. Perfect fruit and balance. More recently: deep, plummy, still quite youthful, rich legs; well developed, spicy, touch of piquancy and tannic grip. Delicious. Last tasted April 2006 ****(*) 2008 - 2020. M.B.
