Lot Essay

Wolmark is considered one of the pioneers of Post Impressionism in England. As well as portraiture, still-life and stained glass, Wolmark produced theatre work, including designs for two Diaghilev ballets in 1911. In 1915, an exhibition of his theatre works was held at the Incorporated Stage Society.
