Eduard Karsen (1860-1941) A life-long Amsterdammer, Eduard Karsen received his training from his father K. Karsen and at the Academy in the capital. Belonging to the Amsterdam School, Karsen was known for his city views rendered in a dark and subdued palet. The artist received several decorations for his work, including the Royal Golden Medal in 1907. Karsen died in Amsterdam in 1941.
