A PRINCE HUNTING, BILASPUR, INDIA, CIRCA 1770
Gouache on paper heightened with gilt, the young prince in ankle-length mauve jama galloping on a white stallion and firing an arrow at a white hare, his hound racing alongside below, a single tree to right, behind a green hill and above sky, with inscription to reverse identifying the rider as Raja Karam Chand, a 15th century Kangra ruler - 7 3/4 x 10in (19.5 x 25.5cm)
