Djafar Ghazi was a compelling collector who quietly amassed one of the finest collections of manuscripts and calligraphies to appear on the market. It is a collection in whose importance and discerning eye it takes time to fully appreciate. And when you think you have done so, it grows on you further. It is truly a remarkable collection. The rest of the library will be sold over the next two sales, with sales at King Street and South Kensington through to April 2010.

On the recitation of the Qur'an, Arabic manuscript on paper, 18ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 20ll. of black naskh verging on maghribi, headings often within the text in bold naskh, final page with the date of 553, fly-leaf with date of 552, added comments and notes, some waterstaining and replacements
