Poetry, Persian manuscript on cream paper, 517ff. plus 1 fly-leaf, each folio with 24ll. of dense black nasta'liq arranged in two main columns with double gold intercolumnar rules, each folio with an additional line of similar nasta'liq written on a diagonal on the outer edge of the text panel with a small floral spray in a triangular panel at the top and bottom, catchwords, titles in blue, gold or red, text panels between gold and blue rules, opening bifolio with preface with bold gold nasta'liq in clouds reserved against pink hatched ground, the following bifolio with very fine illumination framing 8ll. of black nasta'liq in clouds reserved against gold ground, with five similar but smaller illuminated headpieces within the text and another folio with four panels of illumination, colophon signed Mun'im al-Din bin Ibrahim bin Mas'ud al-Awhadi and dated the middle of Rabi' II 895, in possibly original brown morocco binding with stamped central medallion and spandrels and faded gilt highlights, the doublures with elegant découpé medallion and spandrels on blue ground
